Valley of Flabouritsa
The Valley of Flabouritsa, belongs to the network Natura 2000. The valley divides the mountain of Ziria in two distinct blocks, the so-called Big Ziria and Little Ziria. Flabouritsa has rich biodiversity that makes the center of the region. Sythas river begins from Flabouritsa ending sea of Xylokastro.
A large number of sensitive species such as foxes, weasels, badgers, ferrets, hedgehogs and badgers are among the rare species encountered by visitors. Finally mediterranean mountain soils, steep cliffs, caves, forests and coniferous-tree and rare flora characterize the area.
