Watermill of Dimakou

The watermills in Mountainous Korinthia were widespread, with more than 2000 mills across the whole Peloponnese. It is speculated that the watermill of Stymfalias was the first built around 1225 AD by Frankish monks to grind their wheat. Most mills were maintained until the 60's but the only mill in the region has survived and still works today is the watermill of Dimakaion. Located northeast of the village Syvista Feneos it is working with the water from kefalovrysi. Three mills were in the area of Gouras and were working with the water of Olvios.
